Region coding on Mac OS X programs?

Are programs for the mac, say for instance ...The Sims 2, Photoshop, etc. Region coded like a DVD would be?





I have an American Macbook, would any program I buy have to be the US version, or can I buy the UK version and it would work? (I'm asking this as I'm in the UK)

No they are not. You can run any mac software on a mac from either country.
